It explains the difference between Type K, Type L and Type M copper tube (K has thicker walls than L and L has thicker walls than M), offers design and installation data, and it contains instructions for soldering and brazing copper joints.

• Clivus Multrum - Makers of dry and ultra low flush composting toilets that may allow you to live in a house or cabin that is not connected to a septic system. The site also explains what greywater is and provides information about how to filter it.

• Love Plumbing & Remodel - Terry Love, the owner of this Washington based company has assembled quite a bit of helpful plumbing information. Including a very good consumer report on modern low flush toilets.

• Mansfield Plumbing Products - Manufacturers of vitreous china bathroom fixtures, including toilets, bidets, urinals, lavatories, Swirl-way acrylic whirlpools, bath and shower bases, porcelain-on-steel bathtubs, and kitchen sinks.

• Outhouses of America Tour - Lots of photos documenting classic construction techniques on these pages by M. Loose. Read about Thomas Crapper, and look for the outhouse joke about Santa in the "Comments to the Curator" section. This site is a lot of fun, butt it is also educational!

• PASCO Specialty & Mfg. - Offers an extensive line of plumbing specialty tools and products, including Baseline crack suppression and waterproofing membrane. If you are building a custom shower stall be sure to take a look at their installation instructions showing the proper way to install a vinyl shower pan liner.

• Radiantec Company - This Vermont radiant heating company has a very informative Web site that promotes the use of underfloor heat systems.

• Residential Septic Systems - articles, guides, pumping schedules, links, and other information about onsite sewage disposal systems.

• Rheem Manufacturing Company - This wholly owned subsidiary of Paloma Industries of Nagoya, Japan includes Ruud and Raypack. They produce water heaters, central warm air furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, swimming pool heaters and commercial boilers.

• STADLER Corporation - Hydronic heating systems manufacturer whose products include floorheating systems, snowmelt systems, and radiator connection systems. Their Climate Panel System^® is designed for woodframe construction and can be installed above the subfloor, which is the preferred application, or below the subfloor and between the joists for retrofit installations.
